Shoppers in Plymouth are set to benefit as a host of exciting fashion brands have become available at the Tesco Extra Roborough store on Woolwell Crescent.

To celebrate, the store held a special relaunch event, when a cheque for £1,000 was presented to the Plymouth branch of the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team.

Tesco store manager, Paddy Duggan also presented Whitleigh Primary School with a £500 donation and hessian bags, which have been specially designed by one of their pupils Errol, aged 6 who received a £25 Tesco gift card for producing the healthy eating design.

Thousands of the hessian bags with the special design were then handed out to customers along with champagne, orange juice, celebration cake and mince pies, to mark this special occasion.

Work to improve the shopper experience at the Tesco Extra Store on Woolwell Crescent, includes the addition of the high street clothing brands Evans, Burtons, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis following a partnership between Tesco and the Arcadia Group.

The store have also opened a new, larger Opticians, a larger Phone Shop and new and improved self -service checkouts.

Tesco Extra store manager, Paddy Duggan said; “We are constantly looking at ways to enhance the customer experience and the addition of these popular fashion brands and other improvements are ones which I am sure people will be excited about.

“The response has been positive from customers so far and we would like to thank customers for their patience during the building work.

“We would also like to thank Dave Northcott and members of the Plymouth branch of the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team and teachers and pupils from Whitleigh Primary School for attending our relaunch event. We would like to give special thanks to Errol for his wonderful healthy eating design which we hope he likes seeing on thousands of bags around Plymouth.”

The Tesco Extra store on Woolwell Crescent is open 24 hours from midnight Monday to midnight Saturday and 10am to 4pm on a Sunday.
