Looking for another running challenge while raising team funds?!
HOPE12 is a new 12 hour version of the popular Hope24 event that is planned to take place in September (September 30, 2017 9:00 am – 9:00 pm). With a new estate nestled in the hills of the lovely South Hams around 15 minutes from Plymouth.
A shorter 5km course set on this beautiful private estate with options for soloists or teams of 2-5. This event is ideal for beginner runners in a team; those looking to start out on their first foray into Ultra Running; or seasoned Ultrarunners looking for a new challenge.
NOTE: Due to Estate rules, dogs are not allowed on site.
£5 will be donated to Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team Plymouth for every runner registered. For more details and booking, check out http://hope24.team-hope.co.uk/
Of course, just a few weeks later is the swiftly booking up ‘Prison Break’ – Hope12 would be a great training run for this – look out for more news in coming days!
DARTMOOR PRISON BREAK – ULTRA RUNNING EVENT
Save the date – and start planning your escape!
A major new event is being planned by the team – so all adventure / ultra runners out there, please save this date – Saturday October 21st 2017.
This event is a fundraising running event whereby the entrants determine their own route from the start point at HM Prison Dartmoor (Princetown) with the aim to achieve the furthest distance (as the crow flies) in a given time.
There are 2 categories, a 12 hour and 24 hour cut off. Whilst route choice is very much a part of the event it will be controlled in terms of restricted to only using public rights of way and a very strong recommendation to only use roads with pavements.
Participants will be monitored for the full duration of the event by a GPS tracker device and associated software. This system allows continuous participant tracking and location and the facility for participants to operate an emergency button.
Website, more detail, and registration will be forthcoming before the end of July – watch this space!
