Dartmoor’s Tors and Rocks
Dartmoor’s Tors and Rocks was written by former Geography teacher, National Park Guide and valued DSRTP team member Ken Ringwood who pproduced the comprehensive, very well written, pictorial guide of all of the 365 Tors within Dartmoor National Park- except one! (Due to respect for privacy) Produced with the support of our valued partner at Plymouth University, the labour of love took Ken 5 years and many hundreds of miles of walking to produce. The guide includes a description of the Tor and surrounding features, a photograph and Grid Reference making each of the Tors easy to locate – one for every day of the year! Forward by Bafta award winning TV Geologist, DSRTP Patron, and Plymouth University Professor, Iain Stewart.
“I cannot recommend this book enough and will guarantee that it will see a lot of use when sat amongst peoples Dartmoor library. Congratulations must go to Ken Ringwood for producing such an excellent book.” Legendary Dartmoor

Moor to Sea without the Car: Walks from Plymouth using Public Transport
Walkers and tourists now have the perfect guide to exploring in and around Plymouth thanks to this new book written by Plymouth University students, in collaboration with Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team Plymouth (DSRTP).
Moor to Sea without the Car: Walks from Plymouth using Public Transport details 11 walks in and around the city, alongside maps, illustrations and travel instructions on how to enjoy the Devon and Cornwall landscapes without having to drive.
The walks take in picturesque locations such as Mount Edgecumbe, Cawsand, Calstock, Plym Valley, Princetown, Looe and Ivybridge, and all accompanying information was researched and completed by Plymouth students from Illustration, 3D Design, English, Marketing and Business Management, along with a technician from the School of Geography. The walks were devised by DSRTP member Ken Ringwood, who called it a ‘lifelong dream’ to see the book published.
More information on the book launch can be found on our news page of the event.
