DRG Books Walking In Southern Dartmoor, by the Plymouth Team Walking In Northern Dartmoor by the Okehampton Team
These 2 books each offer 14 walks for those interested in exploring the beauty and magic of the last true wilderness left in Britain. The routes take you to places of beauty and places of interest with explanations of some of the things you will see, such as the Bronze Age and the Tin Mining remains and the legends and the folklore. Each walk has a map showing where you go, but for the more adventurous routes you will need an Ordnance Survey map as well. The grading system allows you to select the walks you are confident will suit your skills and abilities and give you the level of adventure you are seeking. In addition to the walks there are chapters covering equipment, navigation, weather, safety and access Available from bookshops and other outlets around the moor or by post from the DRG by sending your order and cheque (payable to Dartmoor Rescue Group) to the address below.
